All these Finnish cities play an important role in the history of Finland. Today they are lively and growing cities, which offer travellers a great deal to see and do. Depending on the season and the groups' interests the tour can include different more or less cultural visits, local tastes, activities, art and exhibitions or free time for own disposal. Nevertheless, the route offers a large variety of interesting places and a great window to southern Finland.

Example Programme:
 
Day 1, Wednesday: Helsinki
Arrival in Helsinki airport and welcome by your local guide. The guided tour helps to get acquainted with the capital of Finland, also called the Daughter of the Baltic sea. The Cathedral, the Sibelius Monument, the Kauppatori Market place are just some of the attractions you see during the tour before checking in to your hotel. For dinner you visit the Suomenlinna Sea Fortress (UNESCO World Heritage site) which is reached by a small ferry in five minutes from pier at Kauppatori Marketplace. Accommodation in the city centre.
 
Day 2, Thursday: Helsinki – Hämeenlinna – Hattula – Tampere 180 km
After a hearty breakfast you head north. Exactly 100 Km from Helsinki, is located the birth town of the world famous composer Jean Sibelius. The town of Hämeenlinna is also known as one of the places where the Olympics in 1952 were held. On a guided tour you visit the beautiful Aulanko forest park where it is possibility to have a snack on your own cost. The Hattula holy cross church is unique for having been built almost entirely of brick rather than stone. The small church was a popular pilgrimage destination on the Middle Ages and it is known for its lime paint frescoes as well as 40 wooden sculptures which date back to the first half of the 14th century. In the afternoon you reach the town of Tampere located on an isthmus between lakes Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi, in a beautiful ridge scenery. Tampere has a monumental industrial history: The Finlayson cotton mill was the first large scale industrial enterprise in Finland and it was in Finlayson's factory hall that the first electric light in the Nordic countries was lit. From the Näsinneula viewing tower opens a remarkable scenery over the lakes and forests. Ask also for dinner proposals from your guide during the city tour or get advice at the hotel reception. For example, restaurant Tampella by the rapid Tammerkoski is a great choice.
 
Day 3, Friday: Tampere
In the morning a local guide takes you to visit the market hall. An a lake cruise to manor house Laukko, Laukon kartano, you are surrounded by the beauty of the Finnish lakes. Enjoy a guided tour in the manor house and in the verdant garden. Afterwards it is possible to enjoy a coffee or lunch and/or make shopping in the cosy boutique. Return by bus to Tampere. The rest of the day you have free time to explore the town on your own. We recommend you to check out some of the many interesting museums. Overnight in Tampere.

Day 4, Saturday: Tampere – Naantali - Turku 190 km
In the morning you check out and drive to the western coast. Before reaching Turku, you visit Kultaranta, the colourful garden in the summer residence of the President of Finland, in Naantali. After a guided walk in the garden you enjoy a nice cup of coffee and and a piece of Ellen Svinhuvud cake in lovely café in Naantali. Ellen Svinhuvud was Finlands' First Lady but you will hear the story during the tour. Turku, the former capital of Finland is divided in two by the Aurajoki river. After a guided walk over 7 bridges, you have time to explore the city on your own. In the evening you take a dinner cruise to Loistokari island. You can expect beautiful scenery in the archipelago, delicious tapas on board and the buffet in Loistokari with fish delicasies, live music and dancing. Return in Turku just before midnight. Overnight in Turku.
 
Day 5, Sunday: Turku - Helsinki 170 km
After breakfast you return by bus to Helsinki. According to your flight schedule, you can have some free time in the city centre or drive directly to the airport for home journey.

During your triangle tour you are accommodated in Scandic Grand Marina (Helsinki), Scandic Tampere Koskipuisto (Tampere - 2 overnights, and Scandic Plaza (Turku) hotels in twin rooms. Single rooms are available for an additional charge.

Getting there:
Your journey begins and ends in the Finnish capital Helsinki. There are many European and International flights to Helsinki. Alternatively, you can travel to Helsinki via ferry from Tallinn, Stockholm, Travemünde and Rostock.
