This combined lake- and river paddling / kayaking trip takes you to visit the best kayaking places in Lahti region in Southern Finland. You will be kayaking on different kinds of lakes and experience river paddling. Last day also includes visit at Päijänne National park’s most beautiful island, Kelvenne!
Day 1:Arrival and 3-hour kayaking tour Transfer from Lahti to Pajulahti Sports centre. Accommodation in double rooms and welcome lunch. After lunch 3-hour kayaking tour around beautiful three lakes at the surroundings of Pajulahti. Later in the evening free time and independent dinner.
Lenght/ Duration/ Difficulty: Lake kayaking, app. 8 km, 3 hours with one break. Easy.
Day 2:Kayaking at Lake Salajärvi Breakfast is served at the restaurant. After breakfast, it is time to head to Lake Salajärvi for whole day kayaking. During the kayaking, lunch break in Immilä’s mill caféteria. After arriving back to Pajulahti (c. 6.00 pm), transfer to Kullasmarina Holiday Apartments, Padasjoki. Accommodation in double rooms. Independent dinner at Linna Hotel.
Lenght/ Duration/ Difficulty: lake and river kayaking, app. 30 km, 10 hours with three breaks. Challenging, long route! Can be changed to shorter route also.
Day 3: Kayaking at Lake Päijänne -the second largest lake in Finland! After breakfast, kayaking at Lake Päijänne. Today’s excursion takes us to the beautiful landscapes of Lake Päijänne and it’s second biggest island called Virmaila. Lunch at local caféteria and coffee break included, arrival back to Kullasmarina about 6.00 pm for overnight. Independent dinner.

Day 4:Kayaking to Päijänne National Park Breakfast and guided kayaking tour to Päijänne National Park and one of its most beautiful island, Kelvenne. Sunshine and crystal clear water - spend a relaxing day on kayaking and walking in Kelvenne island and its sandy lagoons! Lunch on the island and kayaking back to Padasjoki. Farewell dinner at Kullasmarina.

Day 5: Departure Breakfast and transfer to Lahti.
Accommodation: During this trip you are spending one night in standard hotel room and three nights in holiday apartments. Accommodations:

Getting there: You can easily reach Lahti Region, which is less than an hour from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport: The Ring Rail Line: The Ring Rail Line links long-distance rail travel with air transport, and brings an easy connection to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport from all of Finland. The train takes about 50 min from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Lahti: check timetables here
Airport coach: The coach from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport leaves once an hour and the journey only takes about an hour. Please check the timetables on the Matkahuolto(eng)
Car: The Lahti region is easy to reach from any direction: From the south, take highway 4 that merges into the E75 motorway. E75 continues past Lahti towards Jyväskylä. From the north, take the E75 motorway towards Lahti. For the scenic route through the pleasant landscapes of Padasjoki and Asikkala, choose highway 24. When arriving from the east, take highway 12 to the City of Lahti; after Lahti, the highway continues towards Tampere. From the west, take highway 12, which is called Hämeenlinnantie in the Lahti region. The highway passes through the city and towards Kouvola.
Commuter and regional trains: Commuter train Z from Helsinki arrives in Lahti once an hour. The journey from Helsinki takes one hour. There are regional trains (marked with an H) from Lahti in the directions of Riihimäki and Helsinki as well as Kouvola and Kotka. Regional trains stop at most of the intermediate stations. The intermediate stations and halts on the line from Helsinki via Riihimäki to Lahti are Järvelä, Lappila and Herrala, and on the line from Lahti to Kouvola, regional trains stop in Villähde, Nastola and Uusikylä. Long-distance trains: All long-distance passenger trains, including trains to St Petersburg and Moscow, stop in Lahti. You can reach St Petersburg in 2 hours 45 minutes by the Allegro train. The railway station and the new bus station (completed in 2016) are now located in the same place; together they are called the ‘Traveling Centre’. From the traveling centre you can take a bus to continue your journey.

Bus: Lahti is at the centre of an extensive public transport network that covers the Helsinki region as well as the rest of Finland.
