This journey takes you to the countryside setting of Lehmonkärki Resort, in the region of Lahti, in southern Finland. The tour offers; relaxation, tranquillity and outdoors experiences. Lehmonkärki Resort is an impressive holiday retreat in the middle of Finnish countryside on the shores of Lake Päijänne. Here you will learn about the importance of nature in Finnish culture, Finnish folklore as well as herbal medicine and the healing powers of the different herbs and plants. Day 1: Power of nature Arrival to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and transfer either by rental car to Lehmonkärki Resort or by airport bus or train to Lahti. Lehmonkärki resort, a select holiday centre situated in the middle of the Finnish countryside on the shores of Lake Päijänne. Your accommodation is a comfortable, modern, well-equipped log cabin with its own beach, sauna and rowing boat. After your arrival, a tasty lunch, made from local ingredients, is served in the main building. Later in the afternoon you can take a gentle walk to the forest where you will gather herbs for your foot spa, as well as branches of trees for your personal energising, ‘Power Whisks’. You will learn about the; importance of nature in Finnish culture, Finnish folklore, herbal medicine and the healing and medicinal powers of the various herbs and plants. In the forest you’ll also experience the ‘power’ of nature with nature based mindfulness exercises. Next, refresh your mind at Vellamo’s traditional sauna. You will start your Sauna ritual with body scrubs, facial masks and foot spas, (all mixed for you) followed by an aromatic herbal sauna bath with one´s own energising, ‘Power Whisk’. The herbal Sauna is a place for complete cleansing. For further relaxation and revival, everyone, (over 12 years of age) will experience a personal whisking that will massage your body, mind and soul. Later in the evening you can enjoy a delicious dinner made from the freshest, local ingredients, The menu offers a full range of tasty local dishes and delicacies.
Day 2: Finnish Massage Following a Leisurely breakfast in your cabin, there is a self-guided canoeing tour, with picnic lunch included, to Finland’s second largest lake, Lake Päijänne. Later in the afternoon you can try out the traditional Finnish treatments which have long-standing roots in the cultural heritage of Finnish healing techniques. The traditional Finnish massage has been used to treat body tension and pain for thousands of years. ‘Finnish massage’ is using unique methods in which the entire body is treated. This particular massage focuses on the nerves and tendons. The treatment has multiple positive affects on deep tissues, internal organs, metabolism, and the mind. In addition to massage, this therapy incorporates gentle manipulation of joints and vertebra where needed. Each treatment is tailored to suit individual needs. Before dinner you can relax in your cabin, take a sauna and maybe a swim in the lake. Once again you can look forward to a sumptuous healthy meal in the main building restaurant.
Day 3: Back home with relaxed body and mind Leisurely breakfast in your cabin before you depart for the airport.
Accommodation: Your accommodation is a comfy, modern, well-equipped log cabin with its own beach, sauna and rowing boat.
Details of cabin: 77/98 m2, 1 double bedroom, a loft — which sleeps three, a balcony, toilet, sauna with a wood-heated stove, combined living room and kitchen, fireplace, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer, electric stove and oven, coffee maker, utensils, sofa, table and chairs, TV, DVD player, radio / CD player.

Getting there: There are many European and International flights to Helsinki. Alternatively, you can travel to Helsinki via ferry from Tallinn, Stockholm, Travemünde and Rostock. There is a train connection from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Lahti which takes about 50 minutes. Coach transfers from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Lahti depart hourly with a journey time of approximately 1 hour.
