Itinerary:

This journey takes you to Järvisydän resort and Linnansaari National Park in the scenic area around Lake Saimaa in south-east Finland.
You have the opportunity to create your own holiday programme according to your preferences and length of stay. The Järvisydän resort offers various activities and excursions with experienced guides. In particular, the Linnansaari National Park with Lake Saimaa offers the chance to explore Finnish nature. You can travel through the National Park on the water with canoe or rowing boat or you make a fishing trip with knowledgeable and experienced anglers. You may even chance upon the Saimaa ringed seal! In winter you cross the ice on Lake Saimaa with the skates or skis. We recommended a day trip to the town of Savonlinna just 40 min. drive by car from the Järvisydän resort. There you can visit the medieval castle of Olavinlinna and the Punkaharju Ridge area. There is also a forest museum, Lusto, which is located in the Punkaharju district. There you can learn a lot about the Finnish forests and their importance for everyday life. In Kerimäki district you can view the largest wooden church in the world, Kerimäki church.
You can also take a day trip to the only Orthodox monastery in Finland, Valamo, approximately 1.5 hours drive from the Järvisydän resort. Or you might prefer the city of Kuopio on Lake Kallavesi. Kuopio is famous, amongst other things, for its popular marketplace as well as many other activities and attractions.

Of course you can also have a wonderful time in the resort enjoying the comfortable, cosy atmosphere. You can relax, mentally unwind and take time for yourself in the Lake Spa, with 5 different types of saunas and outdoor swimming pools. The culinary well-being of the guests is provided in "Piikatyttö" restaurant which serves regional foods and specialties. The surroundings of Linnansaari National Park and Lake Saimaa offers countless opportunities to explore the area around the resort and to spend an unforgettable holiday with unique experiences.

The accommodation in Järvisydän is in a new hotel built from the local rock and native wood. It breathes the long history of the resort. During your stay you can try some water activities on the lake, like stand up paddling, traditional paddling or a boat trip in the old style wooden boats. In winter there is skating, hiking or skiing on the same lake. Experience the peace and tranquillity of the nature with all your senses. The day continues with a traditional Finnish sauna and wellness in the new Lake Spa. Sauna is the oldest and the most healing and relaxing wellness element in Finland. After the sauna and the relaxing time in the Spa, you can enjoy a meal of local delicacies in our restaurant and relax in front of the fireplace whilst we tell you the history of our special resort.
So, enjoy restful days getting away from it all in Järvisydän resort. Enjoy culinary delights, inhale the fresh sea air and discover the beauty of Linnansaari National Park and the stunning region of South Savo.
